Designing is Stilts Shoes' ultimate passion and Stilts would like to use that passion for designing shoes to bring joy to all women and men. Christopher Williams is the CEO of Stilts Shoes. His interest in fashion started at a young age. However, he got his start working in a now defunct Black-owned boutique in Harlem that custom made clothes and accessories. He fell in love with the industry from that point on and wanted to be able to express his creativity in his own way. So, he started drawing and designing, and out of that Stilts was born.
Christopher was always a business-minded individual and knew that he wanted to be his own boss. In 2010, at the young age of 23, he became CEO of his own shoe design company, Stilts. Even though it was a risk, Christopher was passionate about his work and was confident that he could make it succeed.
In 2019, Christopher receive his education and completed multiple certificate courses via FIT such as their sneaker essentials program, which is an in-depth study of the history and culture of sneakers and their design. He started to learn more about the sneaker industry ins and out, and that when his first Collection came about.
Christopher Williams has created a unique and versatile Rockstar Collection that can be worn all season long. His goal was to create a collection with an urban, glam, and chic vibe that his clients would love. With his creative mind and passion for fashion, Christopher has accomplished just that. He has a unique design perspective that is sure to give his clients what they want in a shoe. With over 13 years of experience in the fashion industry, Christopher Williams knows what it takes to be successful. And because of that, he was invited to be in New York Fashion Week by Flying Solo in September 2020.
Christopher Williams CEO of Stilts had the opportunity to featured in New York fashion week at Flying Solo for the first time, showcasing the New Rockstar Sneaker Collection on the runway. Christopher had an incredible experience being a part of New York Fashion Week, especially meeting and having conversations with multiple talented designers from around the world, and also being paired up with two amazing designers He also had the opportunity to be interviewed on the rooftop red carpet by Weekly Style Magazine.
That was an incredible experience for Christopher as a business owner , but also as a designer because he had the opportunity to share his work with other designers and learn from them. One of the things Christopher loves most about being a CEO is being able to meet new people, learn new things, and grow his business in different ways. And, of course, it doesn't hurt that he also gets to design some pretty cool shoes in the process!
Christopher was thrilled to have been invited into the prestigious New York Fashion Week event, and he quickly realized that this would be a great opportunity for his company. Flying Solo and The confessional Showroom offered him space in their Copper Room where they showcase the company's rockstar collection! Christopher accepted on behalf of the brand with enthusiasm - after all it's just getting started here...
in Oct of 2020, Flying solo contacted Christopher Williams with some incredible news! Retro Basket Rockstar sneaker was featured in Australia international magazine called l'Officiel, worn by Celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz. Christopher was ecstatic and grateful for the recognition. Retro Basket Rockstar is one of his favorite designs, so it was a proud moment to see it being worn by someone he admires.
In 2021, Alison Hernon the editor in chief of Photobook Magazine interviewed CEO Christopher Williams. He discussed the company history and creativity process behind the Rockstar collection. He also talks about how he got into the Fashion industry and his plans for the future of his company.
In October 2021, CEO Christopher Williams of Stilts Shoes was featured on a billboard in Times Square, NYC. The billboard showcased the Swaggy Rockstar sneaker, which is part of the Rockstar campaign. This was a dream come true for Christopher's career and a major accomplishment for the company. But that’s not all, In the Beginning of 2022, Goldilocks Rockstar Sneaker is featured again on a Billboard in Times Square NYC!! This time it’s with Spray ground. This just goes to show that Stilts creates desgns that will always be in style!
in 2022, Christopher was thrilled to see his sneakers become popular with both celebrities and everyday people alike. They have been seen on the feet of some biggest names in Hollywood, such as, Mike Ruiz (Celebrity Photographer),Miles Richie (Fashion Icon), Rafa Polinesio, Jonothon Lyons aka (Buddy The Rat), (Netflix Star) Maliq Johnson, and Noella Bergener who is seen on Bravo's Housewives of Orange County!
